Is this safe?

Yes.

The only thing GiveHearts does is replace the blank tab in your browser with our new tab page.  It’s like visiting any other website.  Except we load it every time a new tab is opened so you can raise money for your non-profit.

As far as the code in the extension and new tab page, aside from the ad serving (which is done with Google Ad code) and some standard web development libraries (like jQuery), we have written all of the remaining code in-house.  We’ve intentionally kept everything as simple as possible so we can constantly monitor what the code is doing and make sure it’s safe.

We think it’s as safe as the internet can be.  Safe enough to install on our moms’ computers.
