That’s a really good question. There are two parts to GiveHearts – the browser extension and the new tab page that shows up on your new browser tabs.
The extensions we have for Chrome and Firefox are reviewed and hosted by the respective app stores – Chrome and Firefox. They review our code to make sure we’re not doing anything bad and verify that we’re following the terms they’ve set in place for user safety and security. We don’t have an extension for Safari, so Safari users just get the new tab page.
The new tab page (background, clock, etc ) is really just a simple web page. If you’re inclined, you can view our source in any browser. If you’re not sure how to get started viewing source, we have a link here.
